a piece of cake

We decided to elope when we realized the whole thing would be ‘a piece of cake’.

We’ve each been blessed with a sweet tooth, so we knew our big day had to revolve around something decadent. We opted for a vanilla layer cake with raspberry jam filling and vanilla buttercream icing served on a jadeite cake stand.

We decorated the table with glass votive holders and bud vases, fresh fruit, and local cut flowers from Sweet Delilah Farm on Sauvie Island.

Our family heirlooms adorn the setting: the shillelagh (shuh-LAY-luh) of Amy’s paternal Irish ancestors, the gold bracelets of Micah’s maternal grandmother and the amethyst of our dear family friend.
